Trees for life
Trees are the worlds lungs, they give us life through oxygen production, and during their lifetime they will remove tonnes of Carbon Dioxide from our atmosphere. You now have the opportunity to give life to a new generation of forests in places as diverse as Brazil, Equador and even in the UK.
Planting trees is not the only way to offset your carbon
emissions. By sponsoring renewable energy projects you will
effectively be reducing the reliance on electricity and gas
generated from fossil fuels. Take a typical school in the UK for
example. The electricity requirement to provide power to a
school of 1000 pupils could be in the order of £25,000 or
250,000 Kilowatt Hours over 12 months, resulting in hundreds of
tonnes of Co2 being produced. If you were to sponsor a wind
turbine or solar panels for a school, you would be "trading" a
voluntary carbon credit against your own emissions.
